Default Bug Deflector ?

Truck should be showing up in a few weeks and want to get all the accessories purchased before it gets here. Have been reading some info on here about bug deflectors and would like to know which one people suggest. Would like to have one that covers fenders if possible. Not sure which one attaches the best either. Don't really like the thought of putting tape and metal clips on the lip of the hood like the Ford one. I will be looking for a smoked colour one. Any suggestions would be very helpful. Pics would be great also as the AVS site does not show one on a f150.
Thanks

AVS Aeroskin. Does the job smashing Florida bugs, also looks badass. Attaches w/ 3M tape. No screws or metal clips to deal with.

And does that low-profile shield reduce the number of bugs splattering on the windshield or does it just keep them from pitting the paint on the hood?

Thanks.

It's just to protect the leading edge of the hood.

Don't buy into the "deflecting" aspect of the Ford (or any other aftermarket) hood either. Living in FL, we deal with Lovebug swarms a couple times a year, and those deflectors do next to nothing to reduce the amount of them hitting the windshield.

I wasn't sure I'd like that either, but I bit the bullet and did it anyway. As mentioned, the kit comes with protective tape where the clips go. If I ever decide to take it off, a little elbow grease will put it back to original.

I only had one issue: on one side, the clip kept sliding off! Turned out the metal was thicker on one side than the other. Took some head scratching to figure it out and come up with a solution, now I'm pleased as punch with the look.

Size: 49.2 KB This is my truck. And I applied the AVS shield before a long trip thru Florida on Labor Day weekend. Could not be happier with the results. Yes like someone stated here in FL we are going thru the lovebug craze right now. And let me tell you the bugshield was full of bug splatter. From one side to the other. I still had bugs on my windshield, but the AVS handled the rest. If u are as compulsive with your truck as me, it is worth it. It definitely protected the edge of the hood and paint from bug splatter. Lovebug juice will eat up thru your paint if u do not take care of the splatter on time. Having this shield made it simple. With just a microfiber towel and water @ a rest stop they all came out easily. Also, no wind noise whatsoever while driving. A good investment if u do not want to spend mayor mula on paint protection film.
