Have to agree with you on this. My windshield was dinged by a small rock that "starred" the glass. I didn't even make it home that day before the stress line crack appeared.

My passenger window just cracked sitting in parking lot nothing and nobody around it just sitting in the sun light, was kinda wondering if it's a clearance issue glass wants to expand and no room for it

Both cracks occurred from small stones hitting the glass. The second was caused by a strong wind picking up sand (or whatever the largest pebble a wind could pick up) and hitting the glass. So I can’t really say that it was caused by clearance issues.
I traded that truck in on a 18 and windows don’t do the bounce back thing anymore. When I traded my ‘16 in, they said there was a fix for the sensitive window bounce back. I wanna say they said there was a little pig-tail they had to plug in somewhere.
