Yeah, but I've never ever had a tempered side window shatter into a million pieces, but I've had 2 laminated windows that cracked. I think tempered glass is far more durable than than this laminated stuff.

That's a good point. I dunno, I had to replace mine, but it was because someone hit it deliberately with a glass punch in an attempt to break in. They didn't get through that window, but went to the back (crew cab) and that one shattered into a million pieces. So I got to replace both. :/

I'll add that the glass shop ASKED me whether I had laminated or tempered, so that tells me that maybe tempered is an option for replacement. Probably aftermarket.

That's crappy, Zero. Lowlifes like that are the worst. Both my cracks have occurred from small stone chips (last night it was from a pebble blown from strong winds). I'm convinced that had the window been tempered rather than laminated, there would have been no issues.
On a bit if a side note, am I the only one with severely sensitive Auto Up Bounce Back issues? If I roll up my window while driving over the slightest bump, the window automatically goes down and stops and you have to press and hold the window up button. You pretty much have to be driving on glass for it to go up flawlessly. Huge pain in the ***.

Yeah at least with the laminated glass, you still have a window.

I haven't noticed a lot of people reporting their windows cracking.

I have issues rolling my window down a little. It seems to want to roll all the way down all the time. Then I have to roll it back up to the place I want it.

my driver's door window also cracked like that...started out as a half-moon crack in the middle and slowly spread to the edge.

Safelite replaced it for $400. I ended up with a discount to make it $230.

I was told that it was laminated because of the side airbag....IDK?

Tinted windows?
I had mine tinted pretty soon after I took ownership, but (coincidence?) immediately noticed that the windows would sometimes bounce back for no reason.

the window button is actually a 2 position, push down all the way and released the window will go all of the way down. if pushed down a little as long as you hold the button the window will go down, when you let up it stops. Same in the up position.

If not you can look for the thread on resetting the windows.
