Question Box Link Install ?

I bought a 2017 XLT two days ago. So far I'm LOVING it.
-2.7 ecoboost
-Blue Jeans wtih two tone and chrome package
-tow package with backup assist
-Twin Moonroof (I'm super impressed with how quite it is with this open at highway speed)
-Kicker Sub
-Technology Package with nav.
-36 gallon tank.
-factory spray in bed liner

Driving home for the dealer the trip computer said I averaged 20 mpg, and that included several wide open throttle pulls on the highway. Impressive. The '06 5.4 it is replacing gets 13 if I drive it gentle.

But I have a question/problem that I'd like to figure out instead of going back to the dealer for. The Box Link cleats won't install on the passenger side. I installed two of them on the drivers side, and it required some force to slide them up. I can not get either on the passenger side to slide up. Use more force? Anybody else experience this?

I had similar issues. The cleats were a VERY tight fit. I used a small dead blow hammer to gently convince them into place.

I'm having the same issue except none of the cleats will go in. I'm starting to wonder if they messed something up when the dealer sent my truck out to Line-X for the bed liner.

I tried tapping them into place with a hammer. No go. If I hit them any harder I'm going to break something. The spray in liner is factory, and it is not behind the plate so I don't think that is the problem. Looks like I'll be making my first visit to service......

Would it work if you took off the brackets from the bed, assemble the cleats and then reinstall the brackets to the bed?

This is exactly what I had to end up doing, and then on top of it I still had to use a rubber mallet.

Everything is in now and functioning great.

Picked up my XLT yesterday. Put the BoxLinks in. Passenger side took some work. Didn't need a hammer, but had to work them. No bed liner here. I will be getting an A.R.E. topper and may get a BedRug.
