Blue Screen of Death
My sons Explorer did something similar one day, then cleared up the next. Has never happened again. Maybe a failed maintenance process that cleared its self.
Good tip there. After master reset last night, same crap going on this morning. Pulled over followed the reboot and bam at least I have function back. Time to take it to dealer.
Well this has been more than a one time occurrence. I was hopeful a master reset would fix the problem I did last night. This morning it was back to the same shenanigans. Thanks to acdii, I can at least get my function back, whether its temporary or not. I will give it till next Monday and if it can't work it self out, the dealer will be tasked with it.
My screen and dash cluster went black the other day. No radio, rear-view, etc. 30+ codes were thrown. Dealer has never seen any of them. They reset and cleared and sent me on my way. They said if it comes back to drive straight to dealership so that they can contact Ford. They took me in right at closing and cleared. I assume that it was a software glitch.
They are thinking it is the acc. interface module. Dealer is still dealing with Ford to get replacement parts.
I can give you an update once they finally get the issue nailed down.
If it makes you feel better, my 1 week old '17 has spent the last 4 days at dealer for this issue. Mine goes from normal to black screen to radio screen without nav randomly with each key cycle.

I guess my wording was poor.
But, if my dealer ever manages to figure out the cause of this I will let you know so your dealer knows where to look from the start.
I've been a bowtie driver for 35 years. This my first ford, and I only got to drive it for 3 days. I understand your grief of being without a truck.
Hell, they even added insult to injury by giving me a fiesta for a loaner.
