Default Blue Screen of Death

Weird things happening with the truck purchased (2/27). It first started after backing up not getting our of reverse camera mode. Now it happen on start up.

Started it up and this for a while:

then put it in reverse, things look normal. Back in drive and past a certain speed blue screen until I get below speed then this

When I do back up the noise proximity alarm sounds but not the other indicator.

Also, the doors dont want to unlock with the remote in my pocket, it tries to lock instead. All of this happens at the same time. Shut the door locked and running and it double honks twice. Its very odd.

And I plan to take it to the dealer, perhaps I will perform a reset when I get the normal screen. If it starts normal, it remains normal and if it is wierd on start up it stays that way.

Any ideas?

Do a real reset, unhook the battery for 20 mins then power back up. If your problems continue after a full reload then I would take it in.

I just went outside and cranked the truck, blue ford oval on the screen, music begins to play then this:

No media functions work except volume. I will reset when I finally get the normal screen.

Sounds like it just needed a reset. How did it turn out?

If you unhook the negative battery cable, and touch it to the positive battery terminal, you don't have to wait 20 minutes. This will discharge the internal PCM decoupling capacitors on the un-switched 12V.

Did that, and at first the truck would not crank. Screen said no key recognized and it was in my pocket. Brake pedal went half way down. I guess it had to finish rebooting. Finally truck started. No radio, it would not power on. Put it into reverse and backup screen. Backup screen now stays on. Radio finally came on. It must be on some am station......all I hear is static. Looks like only the dealer can resolve this.

Try a master reset.

Not a good idea. Today's electronics is highly sensitive to things like this.

Very possible he blew the head unit.

Well it didn't blow anything. The truck seemed to have an issue with it. HU finally came back and played normally. I haven't got the blue screen yet, we will see. I will try a reset tomorrow.
