Default Blacked Out Halogen Headlights

Has anyone attempted to or is it even possible to black out the inside of the stock halogen headlights? Or do we need the chrome backing to reflect the light? What if the chrome is painted with "black chrome" paint? As I love the retro raptor black LED's but they're kinda steep. Thanks!

Default Blacked Out Halogen Headlights

It can be done. I did a set for my 2011 for about 300 bucks with mini H1 projectors. I would do it again but I want to use another set of light housings and not the ones in my truck currently.

The LED's or the Halogens? Because I've seen the LED's done but not the base Halogens.

I'd just wait for the 2016 truck to be on the market, then hit up tasca for the black headlamps.

I think you are asking if the entire headlight can be blacked out while still using the halogen bulb? Unfortunately it can't, because the bulb requires the mirror finish to reflect the light. You can, however, retrofit some projectors in there and black it out that way or black out the bezel around the housing.

Think I'd like to black out the internal housing and get rid of all the orange reflectors as well. Wonder if a shop will do that for me. Might be worth buying used ones and experimenting on them.
