Me personally, I only like the chrome on the grille for the bugs, and the bumpers for the same reason.

Disproved your theory, besides, I'm not old.
Hey man, 50 is the new 30. Rock on!

Those Venom Rex wheels are absolutely beautiful, really nice looking. I'd buy a set tomorrow but they are just way too expensive for me lol.

i'd call it an improved version of the Fuel Maverick, has a concave aspect to it but isnt full-on concave, and is a little dressier version of the Maverick
No offense but I have seen this style of wheel- black, thin spokes, machined edges- on dozens of trucks. They must be very popular.

I feel like I see a lot of the same 4-5 styles of wheels on trucks, or maybe that's how it's always been.

none taken and yes the Fuel Mavericks are the trend setter for this type of wheel and the number 1 selling wheel @ Custom Offsets for a few consecutive years...
Mine are different (concave element to the spokes, thicker spokes, and a little more machining) but similar. at some point, with so many wheels and styles offered, most things are similar to something I guess unless you get something really "unique"

Well, that makes more sense as to why I see so many of those, then.

to me really depends on the paint color. dark colors such as blue jeans w a machined or pvd wheel looks really sharp. if my truck wasn’t magnetic would have likely gone w a gray wheel, probably black rhino warlord at the time. I really like the bronze wheel look, just not sure how I will like it in a few years. that being said the bronze or gray wheel paired w the right paint color is my current favorite look. I have black w a gray lip which is awfully close to our magnetic paint, shade lighter whe freshly washed. would have preferred not having the black bolts in the gray but this was the closest I could find to what I wanted. end of the day it’s all personal preference. if you like, get it.

At the time, it was refreshing anytime I saw chrome trim / moldings removed with PTM roll pans. I think the fact that so many cars are rolling around with black wheels now clearly demonstrates how people were sick of chrome. On the flip side, I think XD and Fuel wheels are way overused - especially on lifted trucks. Any truck in my area that's lifted or leveled seem to sport them and nothing sets them apart.

IMO, vehicle and trim color dictate whether or not black wheels would be appropriate. Black wheels on something with a good amount of chrome does not look good to me.
agreed... white wheels had a run in the late 90's then in then around 2005 the black wheel trend started ... around 2010 the black emblems started .. now manufacturers (Audi,Land Rover,Mercedes, Nissan..etc) are offering packages anywhere from $1500-$4000 to black out emblems and other chrome parts and offer black wheels .. little late to the party but they are making killing.. and though some of you may not like Black Rims it seems to be the current trend and car markers notice this ..
