Black Wheels
I know this might be the wrong audience, but I want to express my disdain for black painted wheels. It seems like everywhere I look, all of the aftermarket wheels on trucks are black. I have seen a few gold, but its rare. To me, the design of the wheel is so hard to see when its black. I'm 50, and I remember all too well the wheels of the 70's and the 80's; none of them were black.
I don't know if I'm old enough yet to say that I'm old school, but I sure miss the choices we used to have. Am I the only one that feels this way?

I think most of the aftermarket rims I see on trucks look like ****, but it's the design I object to more than the color. They'd look worse if they weren't black, because you'd see how busy they are.
It does seem like everyone is favoring black wheels, and I agree, most of them end up looking alike from a distance.
There are still plenty of chrome, gold, etc., options out there, but folks seem to prefer black.
I run my fuel ‘beast’ wheels in the nice weather months and plan to run the factory wheels in winter. I like the looks of both.

I like the black wheels, but they're getting played. Every wheel on everything is black. I'm really digging the 20" sport wheels on my new to me 15 SCrew. Love the gunmetal. My truck is is black too. Dont want it to just be a giant sea of black.
I'm going with bronze or machined when I get wheels.
I'm old too and not into the black wheel thing. Just about every truck around me with aftermarket wheels are in black. So played out in my book. Bronze is different and cool but seems to work best on certain colors though. I do like black centers with polished lips like the Gear Alloy Trek.

I do like and personally have black/machined wheels on my truck which has no chrome at all. That being said I still see some trucks with chrome wheels I find very nice as well. Just depends on the theme of the rest of the truck and what the owner is going for with me.

I prefer something other than black, although, it depends on the vehicle. I've got Raceline Raptors, satin black, on the Ranger, and OEM high gloss 10 spoke on my wife's '18 Ruby Red Escape, with the appearance package. The Rangers are 16X8/9, not something you see everyday, and the Escape is a rarity as well.
I really like the grey Sport wheels on my 150.
The powder coated black is nice for longevity, and the prices are usually more inexpensive as well.
I don't like chrome, and polished looks good only on certain colors/vehicles too. So that's leaving my choice to the greys, and I'm really liking the bronze, on certain colors.
In fact, after looking for many hours, the wheels I'm leaning to anymore are the Sports, like I have, and the Raptor black/machined type. The Sport type would not look right in black, but would in bronze, or many shades of grey.
I'll never condemn anyone for what they do to make their truck theirs, all the above is simply some olde guys opinion.
Hell, I remember when the 8 spoke "white" wagon wheels were the rage. Yep, even had a set. 15X8, anyone even remember that size?

LOL. Just about every truck and Land Cruisers we had in the 1970's had 15x8 white wagon wheels. Funny that everyone thinks they need 35" tires to go four wheeling today and we got by with L78's, 10.5 and 11.5 x 15's.
