Default Bilstein 5100s vs. Eibach

Just curious if anyone has used both the Bilstein 5100s and the Eibach front struts and can offer a comparison. My 5100s started leaking at 40k and I'm not all that thrilled with the ride quality (little to stiff). The Eibachs are in the same price range so I am considering them.

My truck is a 2107 2wd, on 33" street tires, and sees exactly zero off road use. It's leveled and I have no plans on running larger tires.

Not sure on the comparison but I can say for sure that either will be at least 10x better than the stocks.

Why not Bilstein 4600? They too are a little firmer than stock compared to my OEM shocks at 60K miles but part of that is that the original shocks are worn. Overall, I am very happy with them. Most of my miles are towing a 6000# and 6500# trailers.

I have the Eibach kit. Definitely firmer ride than the stock FX4. I have no complaints with them, other than the finish looks like a steaming pile of dog poo after a few months.

Can I ask why you wouldnt consider a serviceable shock after the non-serviceable shock failed at 40k?

They're probably pretty comparable since you don't offroad. Have you looked into the Bilstein 4600's?

Ran the 5100s on my 12 and now the Eibach's on my 15. They're basically the same. Nearly identical heights, same finish and body. Get whichever you can get a better deal on.

Cost and vehicle down time. I don't see the value in having rebuildable shock if it means my truck is on jackstands for how ever long it takes to get them rebuilt. I would have to add in the cost of a rental car on top of everything else. I don't have a problem swapping front struts, it only takes a few hours.

I have those on the rear, they are pretty good. I went with the 5100 on the front so I could easily level the truck.

I have those on the rear actually. The problem with using them on the front is I would have to buy a leveling puck to level the truck.
