Default Bed Welds

Why aren't the sides of my bed welded to the floor continuosly? I can see daylight in several places where the floor of the bed meets the sides? Ford didn't always do this.

Maybe the bed isn't welded but riveted together?

You think Ford could have at least ran a bead of sealant in that joint! Looks un-finished in my opinion.

They left that for the new owner to do if they didn't want the fast draining bed.

My '04, '10, '12 & '15 were/are all like that. I caulked them with a bead of black RTV.

I'd say most (well at least a lot of) people use bed liners. Whether they are sprayed in or dropped in, they cover the corners.
