Default Bed removal

I need to remove my bed so I can attach a dirt bike bed rail and there is not enough gap between bed and to do this without removing the bed.

I've never pulled a bed off a truck so I'm curious what it will take....

That's all there is to it huh. I started back the bed bolts out once and it felt like the nuts were loose. I was afraid they might fall into the frame or who knows, just made me nervous...

There is no nut. They use a body-bolt-clip similar to these:

Without a bolt holding them tight, they rattle around some but do not become dislodged easily. Generally you need to pry them open some to slip them off.

Just a reminder - the bed mounting bolts are one time use and should be replaced.

Can't you unbolt it and slide the bed back 6" or so to get access to the front? Then you shouldn't need to unplug the tail light harnesses and whatever else is tied to the bed. Tailgate power lock wires? LED bed lights? I'm just asking, I haven't done it.

Seems like a lot of hassle, what is a dirt bike bed rail and why would someone need one?

Ok, so I am not crazy! I saw an F250 5th wheel/pintle hitch provision install video on the YouTube, and in the video it said the bed bolts were single use. I've asked several people and got funny looks. I asked the LineX guy after he said they remove the bolts prior to spraying, but put the same ones back in "they aren't loaded, so no big deal". Where is this written?! Would like to have that in writing...

It gives spots for motorcycle tie downs and also holds the tire straight so a bike won't tip over. Something like this: https://www.discountramps.com/motorc...MC-BEDRACK-V2/
