A lot of the OEM ones seem to be on back order. Has anyone else noticed this?

I bought an AGM version in Costco for $175 and changed it out in the parking lot. Bring your 10mm and 8mm socket with you. Took less than 10 minutes.

If you do not have Forscan to reset the BLM, I would take it to the Dealer. I don't take this lightly, I loathe dealers.

No need. Just leave the truck running and change it out, no need to reset anything. Old school trick there to save that dealership trip.

Having the vehicle running while you swap out the battery does nothing.

Just some comments on the old school trick.
You may get away with it but not ever good to do.
Why: the charge system has no load when the battery is disconnected. The Management system knows when that happens but does not know why.
The Alternator may go full voltage and damage other system modules and lighting.
Not a good trick to ever do, and it does not reset the battery age and control system.
Over the years since 2015 to the present, reset methods have been altered a few times.
Best to do it with a Scan tool that is capable.
Don't live in the past.
