Yeah, and mine gets tested a couple times a year. It gets replaced when it starts showing signs of being on its last legs.

29-Nov-2016 would be my guess. DD/MM/YY is more common internationally than MM/DD/YY.

After reading that thread, I'm tempted now to go out and disconnect my battery to see if my key unlocks the truck. I know it worked to unlock it as it was one of the details I checked when looking to buy this rolling computer on wheels.

Your battery has nothing to do with your physical key opening the mechanical lock in the driver side door. It will always open that. It's the reason even pushbutton-start trucks have a physical key hidden inside the fob. My battery died once and that was how I got in.

I know about the pysical key in fob if fob battery dies. And with as weird as mine as been acting, I still want to check to see if it works as it should, especially after quite a few had stated theirs won't open with the key in the door with a dead battery in the older thread someone had added above. Plus, mine goes back to the shop next week for the CEL coming back on after having the phasers done, and showing different codes now. And it wouldn't make sense that they key not working on a part that is mechanical. Plus, being an engineer, and this being my first Ford, I see a few things that they could have done a lot better.

Smart because you dont want to end up with another non related issue, the door mechanism not working with the key. Its like checking your spare tire pressure to be on the safe side that it can be used if needed and not flat!

Having owned a pickup with a spare under the bed, I have always checked that at least twicee a year. What I want to know is why, with TPMS now on vehicles for many years, have they now included that for the spare. Profit and cost are not good enough excuses.
