Why? If it's good, it's good. An AGM battery should last 5 years or more. My Diehard just passed 3 years, works well, and I'm not in any hurry to pay $200+ to replace it when it works.

Because thats what I want to do and I respect your position, as well. I have said it before, I will not have a battery in a vehicle older than 3 years old, just me.

I once had a car that had a Delco Gold AGM battery that went out. It was close to 10 years old!

Let me answer all of your questions this way: I do maintenance sooner, rather than later on all of my vehicles. Its cheap and works for us and we have yet to be stranded anywhere. To each their own. Have a good one!

you can absolutely tell when your battery is starting to act up, just pay attention. I agree with the 5 year rule.
