Default Backup camera problem

I did a search and all I could find was a problem when adding LED lights. My backup camera was flickering earlier today when I backed in my garage. Later when I drove out it was still doing it and then it started showing narrow colored vertical lines. About the time I was going to take a picture it started working. The touch screen seems normal and the backup warning lights and beeps seem normal. 2017 XLT 40,000 miles. Maybe the camera going bad??

Some folks have found that if they check the connector and clean it up, it resolves their issue. Others have had the camera replaced.

Actually mine is currently acting up, it has become blurry and also sometimes just turns off and on when activated. I have reprogrammed with Forscan and no change, so I guess a new camera is in my future also.

I just took mine apart a sprayed some electrical cleaner on the connector to the camera. I watched a YouTube video in how to take it apart, pretty easy. Mine had started working again and still is so I’ll wait and see.

I just finished cleaning the connection for the camera. Time will tell if that helps any. Maybe just the placebo effect, but it seems to appear quicker.

Mine was ok a several days but messed up today again. I remote started the truck and the camera grabbed the image as I walked up to the truck and froze. As I backed up I noticed the image out of the corner of my eye and thought it was my wife running out of the house to tell me something and it scared me as I thought I was going to run her over. I then realized it was me in the picture and it was all wacky looking. I may be due for a new camera.
