Default Backup camera guidelines

I have an 18 XLT supercrew with basically every option, including the backup camera. When I test drove the truck, it had the guidelines on it, but when I was driving it a few days later they have seemed to have disappeared. I’ve looked in the settings and I have something called enhanced guidelines, but switching that on and off does nothing. I had to reset my sync(after i noticed this issue) because I bought the truck used and wanted to use Fordpass, that did not solve the issue either. I have been researching it and a lot of the forums people say they’ve had this issue and found the answers in their manual, but they don’t elude to where or how to fix it, which is SUPER irritating, considering I’ve combed my manual and found nothing about it. Anybody know the fix for this

I don't have an answer but replying here in case I ever run into this. What's more annoying to me than the guidelines are the white lines that actively move when you're turning the steering wheel. Wish there was a way to turn those off.

You will have to reset the LIN via FORScan or FORSCan lite. I swapped my camera and had to reset my LIN in order to get the guidelines to show.. unless your LIN Module is bad.

LIN = Local Interconnect Network which you might have to reset in order to get your guide lines back. In order to reset your LIN you will need either FORScan or FORScan lite.

In the settings, vehicle, subset, there is an on off option for the camera lines.
I had all my rear camera lines disappear over a month ago. Dealer checked it out, had to wait on the area Ford electronics tech, 2nd appt.
He started to check it and it started showing the lines! After checking the system for error codes, found a bad control module. Ordered it in and scheduled for replacement next week.
There is a rear camera TSB or recall that they just replace the whole camera from these symptoms, too.

My 2018 F150 rear camera got the moisture inside the lens housing so the camera video looked crappy and milky. I ordered a replacement camera which was plug and play. New camera had no guidelines at all. I did buy the recommended OBDII adapter for work with forescan, and was able to follow instruction from the forescan forum and turn the guideline on and calibrate for the new replacement camera. I also removed sirius satellite option from the radio and enabled fog lights to be on along with high beams if needed.

If you decide to go this route follow the instructions on the forescan website closely as you are deep into the software belly of the beat and wrong entries can muck up programming. Also you need a laptop to connect and run the software.

I’ve not seen any TSBs for this particular issue. Know where I can find it? I’m not looking to go in depth with Ford, and end up paying for it😂I can live without the ****tin lines if that be the case.

Not Really, under $50 for OBDII reader and FORScanLite. 5 minutes of your time and the majority of that is setting the OBDII reader with your phone.
