Default Backup Camera

I just picked up a 2016 F150 XL this week. It doesn't have a backup camera, but I would like to add one. Is it possible to buy one from Ford that is plug and play or should I look to the aftermarket?

Aftermarket will probably be both easier and less expensive.

Try searching for the thread on doing your own back up camera. It may not be for you, but it is a really good thread, shows all the OEM part numbers that you will need, and gives excellent instructions.
I ended up trading my ‘16’ or I was going to do it. I also would check out ‘Camera Source’. There is a link right here on this site. They offer a plug and play version that uses OEM camera and tailgate handle. It is pricey, but looks like a good way to get OEM.

If you decide to do the OEM parts route, don't skimp on the camera itself, get one from an OEM source like Tasca Parts, not a eBay equivalent part. It will cost more, but you will not have problems later. I just finished this a couple weeks ago.
