Default Installing backup camera 2015 F150 SCab 300A

I picked up my brand new 2015 F150 XLT SCab a couple of weeks ago. I only have the 300A package which does not include a backup camera. After driving it for a couple of weeks the only thing I am regretting not having on the truck is the backup camera. I have looked online and see that I can order the tailgate handle that integrates with the 4" sync screen but potentially requires some light wiring, drilling and some dis-assembly. However, the truck came with the backup camera wiring dust cover and I see a wiring harness coming out the back of the bed and into the tailgate. Does this mean that the backup camera wiring harness is already installed and all I have to do is purchase the new tailgate handle and plug and play? Do all 2015 F150's come with the backup camera wiring pre-installed?

I'm not sure, but your right, the BACK-UP CAMARA is an awsomely helpful peice of technology----I just wish I could turn the camara on when going FORWARD while I'm driving so I can see close up of all the dirtbag lowlife tailgaters that make my blood pressure sky rocket, why I wanna see these idiots I dont know BUT I do know the camara dont work unless in REVERSE, then again, I dont have the cam. in f150...

You can install a Lockpick. I am still pondering on getting the lockpick air and a front camera.

If you have a 4.2" radio screen the Lockpick will not work for you. You will need the 4.2" radio interface that also will perform the programming necessary for the camera to operate.

We offer a complete kit that comes with the 4.2" interface plus a rear tailgate camera, which can be found here. It's exactly like the factory but will require you to route a new harness to the radio:

This setup will also allow you to add a front camera and two toggles that will enable camera viewing at any time and any speed.

Thanks and let us know if you have any questions.

Got to say that I love my front and back cameras. I can use them any time thru my Kenwood DNX 890HD. I use the rear camera every time I beck up and use the front in tight parking spots.

I bought one recently for my youngest son's truck. It is a 2007 F150, but from what I learned from the manufacturer, those after and possibly including 2009, come pre-drilled for the Ford emblem mounted camera. The 2007 comes with a template for drilling/modifying the tailgate. Afterwards, it looks like a factory install.
Now I'm trying to find one for a 1981 F150, but that's a whole different tailgate!
