Auto Start/Stop issue
Intermittently, when the truck turns off while sitting at a light, it will have a very hard time starting back up. The symptoms are basically consistent to a weak battery. BUT...when i start the truck up normally, the thing fires right up no issues. I recently got an oil change and they tested the battery and said it was good. Still on new battery, 18' with 24k miles.
This doesn't happen all the time, but enough to where i lose confidence and think i might get stranded so i disable the feature.
This happen to anyone? Do signs point to battery or should i look elsewhere?
Like i said, when just jumping in the truck and starting, there have never been any issues and it starts immediately up every time. It's only the start/stop where it might struggle.
Thanks for any advice.

Starting in autostart depends on actual battery voltage and conditions at that time.
The act of manual starting is not a measure that may be good enough in evaluating the battery ability to start under auto start.
Testing may also miss if it is not done with close observation of battery condition so you get fooled into thinking it may not be the battery.
The battery should be an AGM type and subject to somewhat different operating conditions.
Could be a bad cell, undercharging, cable connections, low charge voltage or other loads on the system that is detected by system diagnostics.
In auto start, an electric pump on the trans has to be powered to pump fluid to the rest of the trans or auto start would not allow the trans to move the vehicle quickly enough on road use in traffic. Electric fuel pump has to be powered as well. These require battery power.
Bottom line is there 's more to this that just cursory manual starting and battery testing and requires better than simple observation and testing.
One possible way is to observe the battery action on the small dash screen when put into 'engineering mode' and stepped to observe battery voltage at rest, during cranking and after starting to see what the charge voltage level is. Any one of these or more failing or low is a hint.
Good luck.

Process of elimination......... determine if it's the auto s/s or something more basic by running it somewhere it's fully up to temp. Shut it off yourself say for a minute or so and see if you have the same problem starting up as it seems to have with auto S/S. If it starts up fine manually then the probem is likely in the S/S otherwise if it give you trouble it's likely as has been stated a starter problem or battery.
I have the same problem, I've got a new battery and a brand new alternator! Still with the problem! My next move is to change the starter! I really think is the heat soak of the starter!

I'll give an update on my situation. The truck was sitting for days/week(s) at a time and only used sparingly. I would use a trickle charger to top off the battery, but i suspect the battery management/battery performance was suffering. Eventually the start-stop just stopped working, I replaced the battery with a new one (at dealership so I'm assuming they reset the system as well), and since then, no issues. Clearly not your issue since you replaced the battery, but that solved my issue.
