Auto start/stop
I just installed the Autostop Eliminator a couple of days ago. I used the *** for a while and although it didn't bother me in the spring and fall, in the summer I hated it. I would stop at a light and it would shut off, then about 15 or 20 seconds later it would start blowing warm air and in another 15 or 20 seconds it would start back due to the temperature. So it isn't worth the hassle for the 15 to 20 seconds of fuel savings. Now I can turn it on in the spring and fall and leave it off at other times.
To clarify: you are not turning off the *** feature using Forscan. The BMS or battery management system is disabled which in turn disables Auto Start / Stop. There is lots of discussion for and against if you search. I got the *** Eliminator for mine as it targets the source and easy to make active or reversible. There is a whole thread on it as well.
I disabled mine with ForScan as well. If I want the engine off when I'm at a stop light, I can turn the engine off myself.
The only time I turn my engine off while on the road is when I'm at a railroad crossing and there's a long freight train going by (rarely happens).

For $89 and about 10 minutes to install, it eases the aggravation of the issue.
All it does is remember the last setting, you chose, even after you turn off the vehicle. If you want it to re engage, just press the button again and it works just like before. There is no down side to it (except the cost)
So many folks on here disable - refuse or just don't use the many features of their truck.
Ya, some of them are kinda stupid but one thing leads to another...
Then, its off warranty and bam! It doesn't work, or something associated with it doesnt work...and then what?
I just hit the switch. When warranty is up, then maybe I'll do something about it.
So...use the ***, AWD, e-locker, park assist, 4wd, trailer backup, memory function, auto high beams, etc ...
My advice...try out and use all the features of your truck. Make sure they all work and function as required...before warranty is up!

Is there a preffered brand or supplier to buy an AS/S eliminator from?
Don't they basically just reverse the factory switch?
That it defaults to off on start up, and stays off unless you push the button to turn it on?
I have a Forscan cable too, but will not use it until I have some time to spend reading in detail and watching Youtube, as I don't want to screw anything up. Including turning off a module controlling the AS/S, as opposed to just buying the switch.
