I'm sure ambient temperature plays a part, but I have a stop light about .4 miles from my driveway. If I catch it red it will still turn off. The engine isn't up to operating temp yet.

Mine shuts off before it gets to running temp. Peddle pressure means nothing on mine. I've had it shut down and restart almost instantly and do it over and over. Changing pressure didn't stop it. Stopped at the local convenient store several times and the truck will shut down when I stop put it in park unbuckle and get out of the truck and make it to the front of the truck before it will restart. Had the truck over a year and
I still hate the feature

i thougt I had the foot pressure down to never shut off again. Then I was showing the button feature to a buddy, pushed the button, now I can't seem to find the sweet spot. Could it be adaptive?

I have to be light on the brake (truck is almost creeping) or it will turn off.
I have noticed if the truck is off and I am listening to the radio for a while then turn the truck on it will not shut off until I have been driving the truck for a while.
So a weak battery will not turn the truck off until its charged back up.
Also maybe the brake sensor needs to be readjusted. Since you can duplicate the problem just take it into Ford.

Also, the dash information display will tell why it is not stopping if you click down to that part of the display. Including, "engine running due to seat belt unbuckled" or something like that.
I'd love to disable my seatbelt chime - care to share?

Crank the wheel over and the engine won't shut off. Just make sure you return it to center before stepping on the gas again.

From the 2016 manual

Deactivating and Activating the
Belt-Minder Feature
WARNING
While the system allows you to
deactivate it, this system is designed
to improve your chances of being
safely belted and surviving an accident.
We recommend you leave the system
activated for yourself and others who may
use the vehicle.
Note: The driver and front passenger
warnings switch on and off independently.
When you perform this procedure for one
seating position, do not buckle the other
position as this will terminate the process.
Note: If you are using MyKey, you cannot
disable the Belt-Minder. Also, if the
Belt-Minder has been previously disabled,
it will be re-enabled during the use of
MyKey. See MyKey™ (page 57).
Read Steps 1 - 4 thoroughly before
proceeding with the programming
procedure.
Before following the procedure, make sure
that:
• The parking brake is set.
• The transmission is in park (P).
• The ignition is off.
• The driver and front passenger safety
belt is unbuckled.
1. Switch the ignition on. Do not start the
engine.
2. Wait until the safety belt warning light
turns off (about one minute). After
Step 2, wait an additional 5 seconds
before proceeding with Step 3. Once
you start Step 3, you must complete
the procedure within 30 seconds.
