Default Auto Headlight Sensor Adjustment

I know this was discussed a while back, but has anyone found a way to adjust the tolerances yet. I know you can adjust the delay in Forscan, but it's like to adjust the light tolerances. Unless the sensor is in direct sun, the headlights kick on. I'm not blaming the factory settings. It is tint related. I'm just hoping someone has found a fix for this.

I noticed this yesterday. Sunny day driving on the highway and then I would get in the shadow of a big rig and they would kick on and then off when I exited the shadow. Lights flipping on and off do get the attention of slow fast lane drivers, so there's that.

This is on a 2018 Platinum, my 2014 FX4 didn't do this.

In the settings menu in the center display there is a headlight delay setting you can change.

I looked in to this. Is the delay not for how long your headlights stay on after you shutdown?

You are correct that the delay is for how long the headlights stay on after shutdown according to this Ford video on the "Autolamp" functions.

I too find the auto-headlights too sensitive, but attribute that to my tinted windshield, and would love to find a way to adjust it.

There has to be an adjustment for the sensitivity in forscan somewhere... I hate it when i cloud passes over and my lights go on, then off, the back on then off..

This issue can be fixed with changing the delay in Forscan.

Since it is tint related, I think you are stuck with it.The sensor on your dash is a set resistance, it has no adjustment. No amount of magic, including Forscan will fix this.

While what you say makes sense, I’m not happy with the answer.
