You can manually adjust the sensitivity by placing a small white LED next to tne sensor and adjusting it's output until the lamps behave how you want. I did this to adjust for rear window tint preventing my side mirrors from dimming.

Too sensitive? I find this laughable! It can be a dark gloomy day and everyone has their headlights on, but mine refuse to light up. I can pull into my dark garage after driving around on a bright sunny day and the headlights won't com on! I wish they would, as they help me determine how close I am to the back wall of the garage.

If yours is that bad Scott I would buy a replacement sensor, they are not that expensive. It pops out of the dash, easy to change. When I start my truck in the garage, my head lights come on, I back in the garage, so my truck is facing south into the bright light. Once I am out of the garage they turn off.

EDIT: I didn't see you have a newer truck, I would complain to the dealer.
