+1

The stock system in my 2012 XLT was terrible. The 2015 XLT system is much improved. Is it perfect? No, but it's much better. I won't be replacing it anytime soon.

Anything will be better than the stock crap they put in there. I was really surprised at the low quality paper cone speakers when I upgraded mine.

I just emailed them to ask about the system and also to find out what year F-150s it will be designed for.

I can't tell which system you are referring to. I had a 2012 Platinum with the high end Sony system and it sounded GREAT! I heard the exact truck again today and it is still sounding GREAT. I went to a 2015 Platinum with the 10 speaker Sony and it sounded like junk. It had a bad part in it. Everything worked but it just sounded bad, tinny and no richness. I then traded that truck in for another 2015 Platinum with the same system that was working properly. It is OK but not the equal of my 2012. I am not seriously considering any upgrades to it as it is OK and sounds good enough for me. The overall bass seems to be reduced and the sub may not be as effective being behind the seat. I am a little disappointed but it is no where near a deal breaker. Driving the truck with it turned off is still more fun then any other truck I've had to date! I have no idea of how the systems in trucks sound that do not have the premium setup.

It's not nearly as good as the Sony system in the previous models. It does break in a bit but just sounds weaker overall and tinny compared to the outgoing model with the Sony system. The floor space is awesome to have now, but it needs some help for sure!

My Platinum has the stock Sony system and I think that it's very good for a stock system, but I'm sure that a lot of people prefer something "boomier".

The stock system sounds horrible! Just got mine back from Sub Zero Costumz after doing a whole speaker swap out and amps to the front speakers and an amp to the new rear sub. Sounds 100% better. Wait till you see the speakers that are in the doors. There plastic and look like flimsy junk. Totally worth the cost. Just my opinion.

Guessing you have the 5.0 and not the artificial engine noise that we Ecoboost people have.
