Now the real question. Will you sell the old transfer case so I can convert my 4A equipped truck to a regular 4WD?

Why would you like to go backwards?

This is something I cannot do myself, but if an Indy shop was offering this upgrade, I would highly consider it.

So the process of installing the transfer-case is pretty straight forward. I took a few photos but I don't think I'm going to get too crazy, the forum makes me resize every photo i take and its annoying. But basically you lift the truck up, remove the driveshaft, unhook the front drive shaft and remove if you can. I did not and at times it was a PITA and in the way. Hold up the transfer-case with a tranny jack and drop the crossmember. Now the fun begins, while holding the transfercase up, unbolt it from the back of the transmission. 2 of these are a HUGE pain. To get the top 2 out I used a stubby ratchet and had just enough space to break it free, then I undid them with my fingers. Once its unbolted its just a matter of pulling it off the output shaft, spinning the transfercase 90 clockwise and dropping it. This is where a second person really comes in handy. The transfercase is only around 50lb but its extremely awkward and I would not want to drop that aluminum housing on the ground, it would likely shatter. The install is just the opposite.

Its been a long slow process, 2 years in the making but I'm glad to finally have it done. At this point, even if I hate it I'm not saying a damn thing!!!! I was seriously watching my email all day waiting for the delivery confirmation to come from FedEx. Im glad I took the time this past weekend to go ahead and install it even though I was missing the right controller. I was just going back through the post and I cant even believe we started talking about this is Dec of 2016.
