No...E-Locker is located in the rear axle (Differential)

I'm curious as to why they changed TCCM parts between model year 2015 and 2016 using the same engine and transfer case. Usually when a new one comes out it replaces the previous unit. Anyone know if you can use the 2016 TM289 for a 2015 build? Seems like the newer part may have an improved algorithm.

Did this mod 1 week ago on a 17 2.7 Ecoboost XL with e-locker.
I used the GL3Z 7A195E transfer case. 1000.00 on Ebay
TM315 (HL3Z 7E453F) transfer case module. 52.00 from Rock Auto
FL3Z 14B166DA dash switch 57.34 from Tasca on Ebay.
Install took 4 hours.
I have driven it 100 miles. No DTCs set.

You must of had a hoist and a few red bull. I did it on jack stands and it took 8hrs. Very happy so far, I will report back in snow season.

How big of a pain is this to do on jack stands? I don’t have a lift. Is there enough room to get it all out without doing gymnastics?

It's really not that bad, just more time consuming . You definitely need a extra set of hands getting the transfer case out and in. Drain both transfer cases fluids to keep from making a mess. I used a ATV jack and that worked well. The rotating of the transfer case is the only pain otherwise its pretty straight forward.

I just purchased a transfer case from a salvage yard $475 out of wrecked lariat with 14,000 miles. For anybody thinking about doing this you might want to use the following site to search for a used one:

www.car-part.com

I have an early build 2015 and I am moving forward with the following part numbers for the switch and module and want to confirm they will work for me:

Switch - FL3Z-14B166-DA
Module- TM-289

Finally after all of that what change do I need to do in forscan? Thank you to the pioneers of this thread and the ones who have completed.
