Default which antenna to get?

whacked a tree branch last night going about 30mph and broke off my antenna at the base.

Finally got the base drilled out and got the remaining broken pieces out.

what should i replace the oem antenna with?

I dont want to go too short but shorter than factory would be nice.

If it were me I'd buy an OEM replacement and cut it down. Seems none of the shorties have great reception.

I'm using the 14" Steadfast and lost only one station (bad reception). I didn't want to cut my stock in case I did a long trip in the middle of nowhere that way I could switch between the two. Only cost $14 via Amazon.

Lots on here have cut the stock antenna without issue. And it's free. Cut, sand, then glue.

which ever one you get make sure it has the spiral wire on it or else you will hear it at high speeds.

I just installed the AMI big stick 15" from auto anything, today was the first drive but I didnt hear it at 65mph. I think it might be too thick to whistle, I'll have to see how I like it. You definitely notice it being there compared to the stock one, as its about 4x the circumference. I dont listen to normal radio usually, so dont really care that much about the reception. I just needed to reduce the size so it would stop banging on every parking garage I drive into. It seems to be a nice quality, but its a little pricey.

I dont understand why they are still putting the old style antennas on anything, let alone the yard stick they tossed on these.
