Default Another X plan question

For those who have X plan and tried to beat X plan pricing, were you successful and if you were by how much and how much time did you spend doing it? I'm looking at about a $58,000 buy and have X plan available. It will definitely be a special order and have no incentives. I also travel for a living and don't have a lot of free time. Trying to decide if the savings are worth the effort. I know some actually enjoy spending days to save a few bucks, but for me it's a straight up time vs savings decision. Depending on the numbers, I'd rather work in my field than beat up on a dealership.

Read this thread. Don't bother with X-plan.

It will take the OP days to read that thread.

Mike, if you don't have a ton of time, go to Ford's web site, build your truck under the X-plan. Then shop that price over the phone with every dealer in your area. I was able to order a 2018 Platinum about $1600 under invoice which is better than Xplan doing this. Good luck. BTW, why do you say no incentives? When ordering, you get all current incentives or the incentives offered when you take delivery, whichever is better.

I say no incentives because the specifics of what I will order have a very low likelihood of having them plus was hoping to avoid that distraction in the discussion. Just like I was hoping to avoid the other threads ridiculousness. Looking for simple results from those who have tried and thank those who respond with real experience shopping vs xplan and time it took. Thank you to those who give that info.

Everything has incentives. Dealer needs to lock them in at time of ordering, then you pick those or ones in effect at time of delivery. X-Plan takes zero time.
