Default Anyone regret their MX4?

i just ordered an MX4 for my truck. Has all the features that I was looking for and seems pretty universally loved around here. Just curious if anyone has any big complaints or wished they went with something else?

only thing I’m really concerned with is what happens when it gets snow and ice on it. Do they tend to freeze shut or after brushing the snow off will it usually open fine?

I have the Bakflip VP version and snow and ice on it definitely makes it really difficult to open. Basically have to completely clean it off for it to fold up. Also if you get freezing rain or thaw/freeze weather the rubber seals along the edges sometimes freeze to the truck rails. Looks great and works great the other 8 months of the year here in Ontario Canada!

my back flip does get frozen, and has to be cleaned off in heavy snow no biggy, what i hat the most is that it does have to be realigned every 5 months so the rear tailgate seal doesn’t leak.

I've started noticing a couple leaks here and there with mine too, but not at the tailgate. Once it warms up around here in another month or two, gonna fiddle with mine and see if realigning it helps.

I wanted to chime in on this thread. I was a Level 10 tonneau cover and cap hater until I bought a MX4 a couple of months ago. Now I don't think I can ever own a truck without one again.

Haven't had it long enough to know, but I did have to adjust the latches on the back panel near the tail gate. They barely caught the rail to latch, so I moved them outward a little per someone's suggestion on another thread about this cover. I like the look and ease of it overall, but can't speak to leaks yet. I also park in a garage so snow is not a big issue.

We had a heat wave that involved some rain and then a big freeze overnight, and that caused a little trouble as the rain water froze the top of the tailgate to the rubber seals of the cover. It took some pulling, and even then I didn't want to pull too much as I know the handle isn't meant for it.

That has been my only complaint really. Yeah you have to take an extra 20 seconds and clean it off, but you should anyway to not be an a-hole blowing snow over everyone as you drive. The benefits of it have 100 to 1 far outweighed these kinds of issues.

No complaints on mine so far after 3 months. Not 100% watertight, but I'd give it 99.5%. We have had some torrential rain, and there are a few water trails inside but nothing major, and honestly less than I was expecting. Very happy with it. Luckily freezing is not a big issue out here on tropical Vancouver Island!
