I'm jealous of all you AA guys. Wish they would upgrade MFT for it at some point. I don't wanna drop the money to upgrade to sync 3

Well there's pros and cons to it, you really aren't missing much without it. The only reason I plug in my phone is to follow navigation. If I just want music I prefer to use bluetooth over aa.

Is there a way to have the earth view on maps like if you were using your phone?
Using an OE Samsung cable.

I also had to pull down the menu on the phone and change the usb connection from charging to file transfer. Without making that change when I would plug in the phone android auto would load on the phone, start to load on the truck and then the truck would switch back to sync.

^^^^^^ X2. Took me like 30 min to figure out why it was not working when I first did my swap. This was the issue. Wish I could figure out how to make that the default setting when I plug it in.

Is this update not available for everyone? I have 1.0 still installed from the factory, set up for auto updates and connected to wifi. It shows it checked for an update yesterday but still has 1.0.

If you dig in the CarPlay/AndroidAuto sticky you'll come across the links for it. Then just download them to your machine, toss them on a USB stick, and upgrade.

Instructions should also be in that same thread.
