Default Ambient temperature reading

I recently had my truck get fixed at the body shop from some storm damage, and when i got it back the outside air temperature that displays on the screen has not been reading correctly. My truck is a 2017 Lariat, outside temp where i live has been between 30-50 degrees and the display is showing between 70-80 degrees. Before it got dropped off to be repaired the temp was spot on. Does anybody know how to fix this problem? I've replaced the sensor behind the grill and before i put a new sensor in i disconnected the battery cables for about an hour and it still read the wrong temp.

Just a question, have you driven the truck over 30 mph or so on a longer than a few minute drive?

Ive noticed if I just drive to the store and don’t get over 20 mph or so, it does not update.

Quote from Google: From your climate control panel press and hold the AC and MAX AC buttons at the same time for 2 – 3 seconds. Release the buttons and after 1 – 2 minutes the sensor will have reset and also hopefully recalibrated to match the correct temperature outside.

What year is your truck and where was the body damage? The ambient sensor was moved to a side mirror on later models.

Post #1 OP tells you it is a 2017 so the AAT is behind the grille.

Oops. Skimmed over the year part. Still important to know where the damage was.

The AAT passes through an inline connector C133 which is located in the front engine compartment close to the AAT. It is a black connector. The front camera wires pass through it as well. Could there be an issue with this connector or the wiring approaching the connector?

It was minimum damage, just repainted but they did put a new grill on because it got chipped up and what not, but no collision damage what so ever.

Time to move to the Bahamas so the temp is accurate.
