Default Ambient Temp Sensor

2018 F150. Just noticed my outside temp display is stuck on 45 degrees (actual 70). I tried the A/C Recirc thing where you press for 20 sec but did not fix. I am told the sensor is under the passenger mirror but all I see is a cover …is this where it is located? I have attached the view from under passenger mirror. Any suggest or help appreciated
thanks

Is yours behind your grill? I don't remember when they moved the sensor. Mine is under the mirror and it's a small round circle with a couple bumps on it. I don't see that under your mirror.

My 2018 is IIRC October 2017 build and the temp sensor is still in the grill. Sounds like perhaps a new temp sensor is needed.

Are those stock or aftermarket mirrors? Did it ever work? If you do not find it under the hood, probably in front of radiator, I'd pop that cap off the passenger mirror and take a peek. Might just be there loosely.

On the models with the temp sensors in the mirror, the temp sensor nub sticks out of the mirror.

Also on OPs picture that little removable piece is where cameras would be on the higher speced trucks. The temp sensor is actually on the underside of the mirror toward the outer edge farthest from the truck. If I recall correctly underside from outer to closer to truck would be temp sensor, puddle lights, and then the 360 cameras right next to the truck if equipped.

My ‘19 has one under the passenger mirror, but there’s a similar looking sensor behind the shutters after you remove the grille. I haven’t researched what the one behind the shutters is for.

Stock mirrors
I do not see anything in the grill. Would it be located under that cover? I figure the sensor has to be exposed.
