Default Temperature sensor?

2015 Lariat 502A does anyone know if my outside temp sensor is under the hood or in the passenger mirror?

Pretty sure it's on the lower part between the shutters and grill

I thought the 2015s were in one of the exterior rear view mirrors and they moved it to behind the grille for 2016. I could be wrong about that. The 2016s are definitely behind the grille.

In every vehicle I've owned, the outdoor temp sensor was behind the grill on one side or the other. You can usually see it.

Did some more checking and the 2015s are the same as 2016+ with it in behind the front grille. Part number as AU5Z-12A647-B.

My 2018 has it under the passenger mirror. MUCH better location IMO, since it doesn't heat up with the engine when truck is parked. And MUCH easier to replace if needed too .

Switch was made in 2018. ‘15-17 in grill, ‘18-up in bottom of mirror.

I thought I had read something about that. Just had the years backwards. Wonder why the move. As stated before, they have been behind the grille (in front of radiator) for many years.

My 2015 runs the low speed fan often enough that truck's heat appears to have no affect on the temperature reading. Temp doesn't change during the warm-up period, and doesn't change once I get moving.
