Default Alignment Question

Forgive me for not knowing anything about this, but I
have the truck in just for an oil change today and the tech sent me this saying I need an alignment. Truck feels fine, tires seem good. Can anyone help me understand this and should I or shouldn't I have the alignment done with these numbers? TIA!

I understand that, but they can't make this up. So was just curious if it was really in need or if someone could explain. I declined the service though

Need is relative here. A good rule is to get an alignment when you get new tires or you hit a pot hole or something. If your toe is out you will basically be scrubbing sideways a bit and it will affect tire life. If my alignment was out this much in my car, I would definitely get it aligned since I cant rotate the tires and they are expensive as hell to replace. In my truck I would probably let it slide if I had less than 50% tread life left since I rotate my tires on schedule and have the alignment done when I purchase a new set of tires.

Many dealerships have a laser alignment checker that does a quick check as your car rolls by into the service shop. It is intended to flag alignment issues BEFORE you show other symptoms. Pretty much every car or truck that rolls into the shop will be checked. It is not perfectly accurate but it is legit.

Check this link.

I suggest heeding the advice before you ruin some tires. If you are concerned about their honesty maybe you shouldn't have them doing your oil either.

Here are the alignment specs to compare. I caution using just any shop to do this as it part black science to get it right and driving down the road straight.

As a point of reference my 07 had 245K on it when I traded it in. Never had or needed an alignment. Never any issues with tire wear either. Makes me wonder....

I don't like the toe out on the front, that's much more of a race car type of thing. It will cause feathering on the front tired and some wandering, so I'd get that zeroed or just slightly toe in (positive numbers). 0.08° or so as a max for each wheel.

Yeah, plus that much toe not only wears the tires prematurely, but wastes gas, as the tires fighting each other requires more power to push the truck at any given speed (the higher, the worse). Alignments are cheap, especially for just the front, so I'd get it done by a reputable shop.
