Default Adding xm ?

I have a xl sport with sync. Why they don't come with xm for these models is bugging me... Other trucks like dodge and Chevy have xm on their lower end models. Now how do I add it? My brother has the same stereo but has xm in his xlt

Go to the SiriusXM website buy a radio, install it and they will turn on your service after you pay their fees.

We added it on an XL here at the dealership. It cost like 750 bucks for the XM module though. And with labor and everything else it was like $1,000

I had never listened to XM before buying my 2015 Lariat. Though ignorance I always assumed XM would be good quality.

In fact it sounds absolutely terrible for music. It always sounds like the band is being dragged backwards through a large, rotating drainage pipe.

Spoken-word on XM is bearable, but still way lower-quality than FM radio.

There are plenty of threads about the low bandwidth available to XM across the interwebs. It is an old-and-dying technology.

I get 6 months XM free with this truck and will definitely not continue. I suggest you forgo the XM subscription and put the $ toward a cell streaming service which is much higher quality.

ft.

I was curious too and found some info out on the web.

This guy shows the requirements if the radio is capable it would have the connection. My XL does not clearly state XM ready so not sure either.

Out side of that maybe a new radio. After briefly looking into it I decided to increase my data plan as I stream Pandora a lot more.

I added this one and it work with my buttons on the wheel. And I put the antenna under the front window out of site outside the truck.

First of all I could care less about your opinion on quality lol. I do have an unlimited plan on my phone but unfortunately traveling across the country I don't always have service to use the Pandora app. I just need music... Thanks guys for your help. I'm going to be trying to do more research and look into it further n
