Just follow the installation steps by Stage3 on Youtube. I placed the controlled beside the battery, you can zip tie it if you want but it can be dangle because its battery contact wires can stretch that much.

If you order this Amp harness, just remove the green rubber around the plugs going to the Amp motor.

The part number for the harness has been updated:
19-04048-90L is now 19-04048-91L

Per the folks at ElectricStep. I'm trying to order the stuff today, apparently the part was just updated so no orders possible yet. Hoping to hear back soon.

No, call Amp Research directly. I don't think it has to be 91L if 90L works..

I could not buy 90L, and it was the same price. Good news -- ElectricStep got their system updated, order placed (I opted to not do LED's), now just waiting on the shipping.

My steps should be here soon... looking forward to this one. Now the question is -- do I remove the bed steps too? (I have a camper shell, so I never use them)....

Adding Power Deployable Running Boards-img_7305.jpg Did you order your steps thru Ford? How much? Yeah definitely a great upgrade..

You don't have to. Its there when you need it. My kids love to go up and down it. But if you can profit by selling it and get a regular tailgate, why not?!

Oh remember. Resale value. Just keep it if i were you.

Update us on how it goes! Excited for you. Here 's mine painted.

No, I found them off a 3000 mile truck that the owner lifted. I've got just under $400 in the steps and another 300 in the Amp wiring stuff.

The steps I mean are these

I love the tailgate step, wouldn't give that up. But the bed step I think might look odd and I've never used it. If I had an open bed I can see where it could be useful

Ah.. the side bed steps. Yes i have them as well, just a crappy pixelated pics that got uploaded, which i tried twice. Anyways, i realized what you're saying. That being useless with a shell at the back. I think Ford website sells it at 400 a piece!! Jeez...

I use them for cleaning the rear window, which gets tricky behind the back rack. Also, to get me standing on the tonneau cover.. it also packed a lot of snow from last year.

Steps installed. What are you guys doing to protect the exposed pins on the steps? The AMP harness goes on fine, but the bottom row on the step plug is just left open. That can't be good.

Everything bolted up like it was supposed to be there. The bed steps got removed, they looked as goofy as I expected they would. It's dirty.... but... it's a truck.

Once you have power steps installed you'll never go back to the fixed running boards IMO. I've had Amp on 3 of my trucks, 2006, 2012 and now a 2017 and love them. Makes the truck look so much better and having them tucked up underneath helps keep them clean of snow and ice during the winter. They also provide a significant larger area to step up/down.

Only thing I recommened is lubricating all the moving joints every 4 to 6 months. Sand, dirt can collect in those points and cause them not to fully retract, especially in the winter. They are a wonderful addition to any F150 IMO.... One my favorite mods for my truck!

The family gave mine the seal of approval, SO glad I did this.

What are you lubricating the joints with? Mine operate perfectly, but I'm all about preventative maintenance.
