Default Adding OEM bed light's = back up camera?

I'm going to try my best to ask the question try to keep up. So i want to add the OEM back up camera I also wouldn't mind adding OEM bed lights looking through tons of post i caught my attention it said.

"From the factory the truck I bought 2015 F150 XL had nothing from the cab back to and including the tailgate to install the rear camera. This truck has the 4.2 inch screen. When I was done I had a fully working camera with all the guide lines and the zoom feature works.
One of the first things I added to the truck was the bed lights, at the time it gave me the first plug for the camera which at the time I didn't know, just an empty plug up by the spare tire which I taped up to keep crud out. "

So does anyone know if this is accurate adding the bed light harness gives you the proper wiring for the OEM back up camera. I know i would still need to add the back up camera stuff and use forscan or IDS to enable it.

BTW I have the SYNC 3 head unit.

It did not with my 2015 SCREW XLT. Mine is missing the wiring that runs from the new bed lights harness to the connectors in the engine compartment.

However - the wires from the engine compartment to the console are there.

See this post https://www.f150forum.com/f118/oem-b...lation-381189/

I'm building a harness to do something similar.

Not all of what I typed is there but since there are several different topics on the OEM camera its hard to keep track,
I had to add the bed lights/harness and a new harness in the tailgate to get the rear of the truck done. Then you have to make a new harness from the rear of the truck to a plug under the hood.
Forscan will enable it.
When its all done, you have an OEM rear camera.

Any more details on these harnesses? Pictures or pin out locations. Possible link to what you did if you already posted it. You are right so many different threads hard to keep track of. I blame it on the sites search engine.

My harness is a work in progress. I hope to install the harness this weekend.

From the wiring diagrams the connections missing are between C408 (the grey connector on the bed light wiring harness) and C275/C316 in the engine compartment. I've boxed the areas in orange in the image below.

I purchased a new male connector for the C408 part of my harness and I plan to just insert pins in the existing C275/C316 (I think I can pop those out and snake it down the wheel well for more room to insert the pins)

Its really tough with those connectors under the hood, no slack in the existing wiring. I think that was the hardest part of the job. Don't push a pin in the wrong opening in the plug, its just about impossible to get back out. Don't ask how I know.

Thanks for the tips! I found an easier way to work with the connectors - I popped the 4 christmas tree clips that hold the connector and harnesses down on the wheel well and flipped the end of the harness down over the tire.

Step 1 complete - harness installed. Now I just need to but the tailgate components (handle, camera, etc).

One other thing I found is if you plan to install the trailer assist lamp you also need a wire from C408 pin 7 to C316 pin 10 ( that info is buried in the interior lamps wiring diagram).

Wish I would have thought to do that, would have been faster. I was so sick of working on it by the time I got that far I just wanted to get it over with.
The trailer lamp is nice also, I did that as long as I was running wires, lights the rear of the truck up nicely when you walk around.
Camera is nice when all done, you don't know how you lived without it.

Quick Q Gordy49913, when you ordered the terminals (both DU2Z-14474-DA = and EU2Z-14421-CA)... how many came per "set"?
