Default Adding multi channel app

So i have a 2016 f150 with stock kicker package. I was hoping of just adding a multi channel amp and adding a floor sub, for louder and hopefully more crisp sound. Have anyone tried this without changing the speakers or radio ?

do you have the 8# SYNC 3 system? most people with those don´t bother changing them to an aftermarket unit. i would swap the door speakers out to either kicker KS series or rockford fosgate speakers, the factory speakers don´t hold a candle to either of those. and there is many more

Better off changing the speaker first for something like Morels or Focals. Then look at an amp. The factory speakers are CRAP and don't worry about the stupid center channel, I just disconnected mine!

Default Sound Upgrade

Hello..I changed all my door speakers first. Went with the Infinity Kappa Series in mine and it made a ton of difference. For the low end i went with a single channel 300 watt kicker amp and used a single 8" sub behind the rear seats. Now it wont blow your head off but it has a great full sound and can be heard just fine rolling down the road with the windows down and my 35" Nitto Grapplers singing along.. If you have the 8" Ford Sync 3 system in your truck there is no need to change your head unit. imho

Good luck

Dave

oh nice ! I didnt want to change my head unit did you add a amp to the Infinity speakers ? I was thinking adding a more powerful multichannel amp and still keep the head unit.

I did both, I started with the speakers then moved on to replacing with two AMPS and a DSP.

I do have a 5 channel Rockford Punch amp for just that idea.. Just haven't got that far yet. My boat project got me a little side tracked and am working on wiring in side marking lamps on the truck. I debadged it and its really hard to see form the side at night....

adding an aftermarket multi channel amp and sub to your factory head unit is totally doable, but you really should upgrade your door speakers and tweeters also. Check out Kicker Key 200.4 amp and morel speakers. Also, your best bet for finding what works best in your truck on this forum is to go to the Stereo/Audio sub- tons of helpful members who have experience doing what you’re looking at. https://www.f150forum.com/f30/
