Default Adding LED lights

Hello,

I have read the threads and looked at purchasing LED fog lights and license plate lights but had a few questions I couldn't find anywhere. I changed out running lights on a camaro with LED bulbs and they melted the connectors. Has anyone ran into that with the f150? I would like to order some but I am curious what/if the LED lights could damage.

Leds run cool and draw a small fraction of the power.

Something to keep in mind with the license plate bulbs is that the housing they go in is very tight. I bought some LED bulbs from AutoZone (Pilot brand I think) that ended up being longer than the standard bulbs that were in there so they wouldn't fit. Actually broke one of them trying to force it ($12 wasted) in so just ended up ordering a pair off eBay for $2 including shipping.

Did you get LED bulbs for the license plate off Ebay? I bought some that were too long as well. Send a link if you have it available. Thanks.

Yep. Haven't received them yet but by the looks of it they should be plenty short enough to fit in there. Here is the link to the ones I got: http://m.ebay.com/itm/351257618562?txnId=678273606022

Why would cops seeing your plates result in a ticket? Not sure about you but at the moment I don't think there is an APB out on my vehicle.

So it matches the color/temp of the other white lights on the truck (backup/bed).

I have been running LED license plate bulbs, overhead cargo lights, fog lights from Amazon for almost 2 months now. Nothing has melted to date.
