Much Longer. Remote start from the factory should get about 300 ft and if you do the OEM remote start add on kit its 1000'

When you say add on kit - you mean the one that comes with the 302a package right?

What makes the range longer? Different frequency?

No, I mean the long range kit that can be added to any vehicle regardless if it came with or without remote start from the factory.

On the 15+F150 factory remote start is a different frequency and two way. It operates on 902mhz rather than 315mhz (non remote start). I don't know what the long range kit operates on.

Any body know if it programmable to Lock, unlock, lock?
This would not require the trip to dealer to turn off horn on 2nd and 3rd lock press.

Ordered mine on Saturday. By Saturday night I received an email asking me some truck info so he can program (apparently it can be installed on push to start trucks too), then promptly received email instructions, and Sunday morning it showed as shipped. Very happy with the fast response from him.

I'll post my experience once I get the unit. Should get here by Saturday or before.

I like the idea of not messing with a toggle switch under the dash. Oh and apparently it can be reset, so if you switch to another compatible truck you can migrate this as well.
I see another with toggle on ebay for $175. The only difference I can see is it can be programmed Lock, unlock, lock with no horn chirp and no need to go to dealer to have it deactivated. I'm I missing something. I like to order also, but not up to speed on modern electronics.

It's the same guy that sells the one I bought on ebay. Those are the instructions for his kit.
Got mine in the mail today and I set to prove it takez 5mins or less to install. Here's how it went.

Set water to boil
Open package and take out harness and module
Read emailed instructions
Water is boiling, add 5 min rice and stir
Go down to the truck, push driver chair all the way back
Disconnect OBD2 plug
Plug in supplied harness into back of OBD2 port
Plug in OBD2 plug into harness
Plug small harness pigtail into supplied module. Led on module turns red
Insert key and turn to ON... don't need to start the truck
Module light turns blinking green, then solid green, then turns off.
Take the key out.
Push lock three times. Truck turns on. Push lock three times again. truck turns off.
Zip tie harness and module out of the way.
Go check rice, stir once.
Rice done.
Job done.

Took me longer to type this than do it.

Some notes

Using the remote start with the hood up will not start the truck. Same if you open the hood with the truck running and no key in ignition... the truck will stop
Also when the truck is remote started, a message on the dash tells you to insert key before you drive. Nice.
Pressing the lock twice then one more time some time later will not activate the remote start. I think the three presses must happen within one second of each other but not 100% sure. Five second intervals definitely don't work.
The settings for the remote start are under Settings/Advanced/Vehicle. I don't have climate control or heated/cooled seats so I can't verify those. Setting the run time does work and so does turning the remote function on/off. Very nice.

I think that's about it. Very happy with this purchase.

I have a Ultra Gauge and the remote start would not operate with it pluged in. Went to the setup screen and checked the enable box. Works now. Just need to kill the horn. Great product for the price.
