Tasca's part prices change daily as well. Be careful looking one day and buying the next. It may also shoot up because it knows you're an interested buyer!!

I'm curious if a 2016-2017 would have the wiring harness for heated wiper defrost area. I suppose if you bought the windshield for the bracket and for the adaptive cruse control, you wouldn't need the wiper functionality necessarily.

Where can we find the company that makes the little bracket that glues to the glass and source from them, before they are glued to the expensive 2018 windshield???

^ That would be nice to buy the bracket, especially if we aren't able to use the wiper defrost.

Absolutely. Traditionally though, this rear view mirror bracket is always mounted to the glass already. It's sold as a unit across all auto manufacturers. I noticed the same thing when they replaced the window in my Cadillac. Rain sensors, rearview mirror bracket all mounted to even the aftermarket glass.

This would require going to the source and saying "Could you sell us a box of those please?"

Looks like wiper defrost is tied to the rear defrost function.

I'm going to see this this stop & go experiment to the finish line no matter what it takes because I have too much time, effort, and money in it at this point to stop short. I have some contacts at salvage yards and elsewhere on the lookout for an '18 windshield with that bracket and told them I'd pay for the price of the windshield but just want them to scrape off that bracket and send to me so I can test it before I take the plunge and replace my own windshield (that already has tint added) with an '18.

Edit: BTW, I did ask AutoNation if the part # from that bracket in the picture could be ordered separately and they said it can't.
