hi I was reading your comment and this has happen to a lot of people same thing is happening with my2008 f250 and it only happen when im slowing down with my foot on the brake. I did a google search and a mechanic was saying that when apply the brake pedal the brake booster send air mixture to you intake manifold in return the ecm is saying more throttle trust me this is scary hope there's a fix for this ford will lie to and say they never heard of this problem but its a definite defect that ford is hiding

If you are criticizing their spelling of pedal, you may want to read over your second paragraph again. You are lacking punctuation and the second line of paragraph two needs revised so that it can be understood. 😂

To those “in-the-know” explain this acceleration with the brake still being used: My brand new 2018 F150 screeched up a hill in reverse. I had my foot on the brake as I was backing up to an uphill driveway. As I was removing my foot from the brake (NOTE: I did not release my foot completely from the brake) the F150 zoomed up the driveway with the tires squealing. The neighbor whose driveway I was backing up onto, heard the squealing tires and the F150 slam into the vehicle in the driveway. That vehicle’s front end was completely crunched. So in review, I was in reverse, with my foot on the brake to a slow roll to backup an inclined driveway ( I had to be extra careful so I didn’t scrape the driveway with the rear of the vehicle), I am releasing my foot from the brake (but not completely), and in an instant the 2018 F150 raced up the inclined driveway and slammed into their vehicle with tires squealing. There you go! No accelerator pedal involved! That neighbor had young children who could have been killed. Just an FYI…that vehicle is a complete lemon to me. I have NEVER EVER put myself in that drivers seat again and never will, because I KNOW FOR SURE there is, or was, something seriously wrong with that vehicle. My husband exclusively drives that vehicle. I’m happy with my 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix 105,000 miles. Ford was involved along with the dealership but would never admit something was wrong which would require a recall. The best I hope for is that they found the problem at the dealership and fixed it, but I’m certainly not going to test it.

Good point because it goes both ways. Ford just determined a problematic Powertrain which recalls a popular vehicle. Uh oh. Shhh. “We can’t duplicate it” so it is okay for you to seriously injure someone or something. Same thing, right? YES. Go buy yourself a 2017 or 2018 F150. You wouldn’t buy one would you, because you know there are problems with those Powertrains.

Please don't get defensive on my Coment to explain some things that need to be understood, instead of just going into a permeant mental blocking mode its always someone else's fault.
First, not everything ever produced works perfect at all times. It's a fact of life.
Tires wear out , blow out, pickup nails etc ask me how I know!
Shocks need to be replaced at reasonable times intervals.
Brakes the same.
And other maintenance items, as well.
.
For the vehicle that runs out of control:
.
All engines run on AIR through the intake system to which a small amount of Gas is added by Injection and expand that air.
The Throttle Body has to be opened for the engine to make power to move the vehicle weight. There Is no other way. It's an internal combustion engine that works that way.
The vehicle would have to be in gear to move the vehicle.
Reverse is nearly the same Gear Ratio First Gear.
Reverse power takes weight off the rear wheels so they will be very easy to lose traction from excess engine power and make the noise.
Bottom line is the engine got that air to do what it did by some 'means'.
No way to tell but Brake Pedal and the Throttle are very close together for a mistake to be made from wide shoe sole, floor mat interference, lack of foot sensitivity etc. ask me how know this!
At least give yourselves a chance to understand the dynamics in play and not just put wild blame of a vehicle for one incident that no one will admit being >>possibly<< responsible for, or able to re-produce.
You may differ as you want, but it is what it is.
Hope the Pontiac Throttle by mechanical cable, never sticks the Throttle open. the same result will occur.
Good luck.

I did buy a 2017, still own it and have no problems with it. Also as a 70+ year old motor-head, know the brakes will hold with the rear tires happily spinning away. Anyone who has ever drag raced knows that and most often use that technique. KM
