Yep you nailed that one...

Wow people upset. All I mean is the 502a package has more items added onto the truck which weigh more so you need a bigger engine with more hp.

This is why you cannot buy a platinum truck or lariat 502a with the 2.7L because these trucks have more items in them and weigh more. All the "options" add weight to these trucks several hundred pounds. So Ford deems you need more horsepower which the 3.5L has more horsepower.

That is explained.

I think the reason you can't get the 2.7 with a 502A is the same as why you can't get power running boards on a SuperCab..

Nope. I have every option possible with the 2.7L (501a) and the weight difference (if there was one) in adding the 502a would be negligible at best. The reason is that they believe if you are buying the higher optioned package, you will buy the higher cost engine options and more $$$ in Ford's pocket.

You don't know what you're talking about. You can order a Lariat 2.7/502a.

Yes that is explained for 2015 & 2016 F150. In 2017, you can get 502A package with 2.7 EB engine.

Yep, the truck just can't manage to move the 360 degree cameras and extra parking sensors without that 30-40 HP. Seems legit.

How about the reason you could not get the 502A in a 2.7 EB for 15-16 was due to electrical demands?

I'm pretty sure he meant that the payload would be like 900 pounds. If you look at all the 2.7s except the hdpp they have a like 1400 pound useful. Add a bunch of stuff now is possible to overload with just people. Lol. I don't know for sure but that's what I thought he was saying.
