Default 502 pkg with 2.7L

I'm sure I know the answer but being new to the newer trucks I thought I would ask anyway.
I ordered a Supercab Lariat with the 2.7 Eco-boost 2 days ago and while doing it realized a couple that I couldn't get because I didn't want the 3.5 like the technology pkg that would give me the 360 degree camera system and the and it changes the headlight bulbs also.
So my question is has anyone pulled off ordering those features with a 2.7L?
Not that I don't like power but just don't need it and didn't want to give up the MPG.

You cannot order the Lariat with the 2.7L ECOBOOST and the 502A equipment group. 501A is as high as you can go. I am not sure on the technology package, as that's separate from 502A. 502A is how you get the LED headlamps, but it's the entire assembly that changes. It isn't just a matter of getting LED bulbs.

2.7 and 502A might be available on the 2017 model. The order bank for 2017 opens up on July 18th, so the order guide should be out in about a month.

Yeah it was "supposed to" be available for 2016 too, and we see how that turned out. I wouldn't hold your breath for 2017 either. Just sayin....

502A SuperCab Lariat 4x4 trucks start north of $50k. If you can't afford to lose
2mpg, you can't afford either of them. Get the 3.5 and never look back.

That's a good point, but at some point you have to decide what's important and what your cut off price will be. There is a slight upcharge in the 3.5L EB engine over the 2.7L EB in addition to the fuel efficiency differences. Then again, if you really want that 502A package then the choice is made for you. Everyone's threshold is different, so you need to decide if that small fuel efficiency increase justifies the loss of the 502A options you clearly seem to want.

Keep mind is that the actual operational costs for fuel won't be substantially different over the long haul between the two options. You'd need to keep that 2.7L EB truck for many years beyond a 3.5L EB for the difference to be all that noticeable. As the above post says, if you can't afford that MPG loss with the 3.5L, then chances are you can't really afford the truck in the first place. There are few financial moves worse than making yourself car poor. It would suck to buy a truck and not be able to afford to fuel it, or add the accessories to it that you might desire.

For some, that includes me, it had little to do with cost. The ONLY reason I bought the Ford was BECAUSE of the 2.7L. I bought as much truck as I could with that motor, and would have bought the package with the LED's if available, so Ford just lost out on more sales.

Why were you set on the 2.7L EB? It's less proven than the 3.5L EB and the gas mileage isn't that much better. I guess I'm old school, but I don't really care that much about fuel economy when I'm spending well north of 50k on a truck. Obviously I don't mind getting good gas mileage if I can, but I'm more interested in the engine that gave me e most towing capacity and torque over the one that gave me a slight bump in fuel economy.
