If you're still not sure, have a look around the forum for problems people are having: cooled seats, adaptive cruise control, leather, all the other bell and whistle problems, then ask yourself again if it's worth it.

So let's say you like the 501A because it has a heated steering wheel and remote tailgate. Are you will to pay $10k (or whatever) more for that?
I know you are just throwing out an example but the 501A doesn't have the heated steering wheel. Your point is right on the money though. You need to identify the key features in a given package that you want and decide if the cost increase is worth it. For me there were a lot of things the Lariat had over the XLT that I felt like I had to have. The 502A package only offered one thing that my 501A truck didn't have. (Although my tuck does have some options included on 502A trucks that aren't standard with 501A.) Essentially the feature I wanted was the LED headlights and they cost substantially more in the 502A package and I didn't feel it was worth it. Buying the LED headlights and associated parts is actually cheaper in the long run. Not only that, but I don't like the chrome version anyway. So going with the blacked out or Raptor Retrofit lights is definitely cheaper and gets me where I want to go for less.

Yeah I was just throwing a random feature out there. The dealer tried really hard to get me into a 50X model but when looking at the extras and the price, I just couldn't justify it, so the saved money went towards a boat instead.

Personally, I'd rather get it the way I want it rather than wishing I had gotten an option afterwards or trying to add it after the fact. I got the King Ranch FX4 with 601A. I love the BLSS, the push button start, the adaptive cruise, the rain sensing windshield, the remote tailgate release and, interestingly enough, the tailgate step. I personally don't like the way the column shift looks at all. What little space you give up with the console shift is more than made up in appearance factor for me. The shifter is NOT in the way of the cupholders. Also love the 360 degree camera.

No doubt, I'm just saying some things are easily added. The OEM mud flaps and trailer brake controller are good examples of this. Once you've got the major check boxes taken care of the rest isn't a big deal.

Lariat. The memory seats and power folding mirrors are a must for me.

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned prior, but you get cooled heats and the auto/dual climate controls.
Unless I misunderstood you my 16 302A has the trailer light status because it showed me my right trailer light was out.

What is different?

Intelligent access (push button start)
grayish door panels instead of all black
spot light mirror
power fold..

Please keep going on whats different..

Thank You
I have the 502a and I would not spend the extra money ever again I would go with an XLT all day. Save your money for something else or assy's

Leather is not worth it. Fords leather is cheap cheap cheap

Intelligent access (push button start)
Really not worth it more a pain in the A$%$ unless you get a ODBII and Forscan and disable double honk

grayish door panels instead of all black
All personal preference.

spot light mirror
Pretty kool but I forget I have it and don't really use them.

power fold
Also a kool feature but really not needed. My other F150's never had it and never needed it.
