On the other hand, this would be about a $500 max mod for me, as that's all I'd see it to be worth (personally).

For the poster paying $2400, I'd want it guaranteed in writing that the DTE will work because you are paying $1000 worth of labor for MAYBE $400 book time.

Anyone else wanting to do this would be better off to get used parts or new parts at wholesale, take to any shop and have installed for $250 or so, then beg a Ford tech to download the as built file for a 36 gal.....
You are aware that 15 years ago trucks didn't cost $65,000.00?

Sorry to be dredging up an old thread, but I'm just getting around to gathering parts to do this conversion. I've go the tank and I'm ordering the pump and heat shield as well. I don't see anything about having to change or modify the fuel lines. Does anyone know if they'll just switch over from the 23 gallon tank?

No my understanding is the fuel lines are fine. You need the tank, pump, heat shield, skid plate (if you have or want one) and that's it. Plus Forscan to modify your DTE

Thank you. I appreciate the info. I really didn't want to get it dropped down and find out I needed to order more parts.
