Yes, it was built in 2020. Thank you for your information!

I use Ford's map and like it a ton but does Ford's map display as reliable real time traffic with accident and hazards and police location info and can reroute you if necessary? I always feel like Google, Waze, and Apple Maps are receiving traffic and hazard data real time from millions of other phones and constantly being updated and I trust that data a little more. I've seen some traffic displayed on Ford's map by way of green yellow and red colors. I would really like to use Ford's map more but haven't used it enough to know all that it will do (reroute, hazards etc.). Does Ford's map receive its traffic info from partnership's with Garmin or Mapquest or some other map service or do they all basically use the same map data?

I went to the sync navigation site and it did not recognize my vehicle VIN number. Would that mean I have no updates available?

Navigation displays real-time traffic info from Sirius Travel Link, uses it in routing, and reroutes if you have nav settings configured to allow it. Travel Link is in your apps menu with a number of other functions including weather. It does not show police locations, which are reported on phone apps by the users. I don't know who provides the traffic data, but it matches Google Maps or Waze when I compare them. There are a limited number of sources of both map and traffic data so many of them use the same source. You should go into your navigation settings to familiarize with the options and customize them.

I have a 2020 F-150 that I got new. I got the Sirius XM package with it and it had 5 years of free subscription to the Sirius radio, Traffic Link and Traffic Plus. The information in the Traffic Link and Traffic Plus work with Ford's Sync, and give updated traffic info, but you must have those extras paid for in a Sirius XM subscription. You know, everyone wants to have their hand in your pocket... I do some traveling, and use those features on my system, so when my subscription runs out, I will probably renew. It doesn't seem to be all that expensive in the grand scheme of things. When I checked I think it was like $6 a month. Of course I will call every year about my Sirius Radio and get a MUCH better price than letting them auto renew.

Your phone with Android Auto or Apple Carplay is 50x better. Tis where the truck is able to communicate with the Ford mothership servers unless you've connected it to your home wifi.

Waze is an Alphabet (aka Google) product. Look under that umbrella.

I have used up my free map updates for my 2020 XLT, so I paid to download this map update.
Download to my Mac and thumb drive was pretty quick with my home wifi. I did have some trouble with unzipping the file, and the Ford customer service was very responsive and helpful to correct it. Note: if you're using a Mac, use Safari instead of google chrome to navigate to the download site and do the download. Unzipping the packed file worked with Safari and the Mac's own Archive Utility to unzip the zip download. Archive Utility would not work with a google Chrome downloaded zip file; but it worked fine with a Safari downloaded zip file. And the Mac Disk Utility did a fine job of re-formatting my thumb drive to exFAT format.
Upload to my truck took longer than the 60 minutes in the instructions...closer to 2 hours.
Its just map updates. No other display changes are apparent to me. I do like having the Sync Nav as a backup to Waze and Google maps.

Yeah. The truck nav and traffic work everywhere, since the maps are stored onboard and location/traffic info are satellite-based. Phone apps don't work well where there isn't a reliable cellular signal, even with offline maps loaded. Since I have it, I make best use of it.

Yes, when my sister and I take vacation she wants me to drive because we tend to do some 'exploring' and usually get a bit off the beaten path, so she says "your navigation works when my phone doesn't, so let's take your truck!"
