Mine came with 2.2 when I got it (May 18 build) but promptly was updated over the air to 3.0. I think I'm at 3.2 now.

My 2018 Lariat F150 is some what similar to your build except its a 2W drive. It came with Sync 3 Version 3.0 and there are updates called Build numbers.
I understand our trucks at this time, we will always be Sync 3 Version 3.0 or what ever Version it came with but later models came with different Version numbers like 3.1, 3.2, 3.3 , 3.4. Some of the Sync 2 version can be updated through Ford to sync 3. Also there may be hacks to change the Sync 3.0 a different Version 3.x, what ever x might be but I don't think that's Ford supported.

For the latest Sync 3:
Look for your "Build" number.
My Truck has the latest Build number, 19205, as of 9/18/2020

To find your Sync Build number
Look at bottom right area of the display screen for and select:
Settings, then General, page down and select About SYNC

This is what my 2018 Lariat shows:
Sync 3 Software Version: 3.0
Build 19205 PRODUCT
Ford Motor Company

If your now thinking about your Navigation Maps Version, your already at About SYNC
The map version is in About SYNC, just page down
The latest MAP version is NA 1 19 as of 9/19/2020

Hint If your thinking about updating your map software, they will be asking for an ESN code. There are two ESN numbers on the About SYNC page, only one works! The easiest one found, on the upper part of the page does not work for the Map update. Page down to the bottom part of the About SYNC page, there is the second ESN code, that one works, you will be looking for the ESN code that's a line below the Navigation Maps Version:

Hope that helps someone

My 2018, built in September 2017, had V 2.0 or 2.2, can't remember exactly, but I updated it to 3.0 not long after I bought it in July 2018. I have since updated it to V3.4, build 20196, which is beyond the official releases for a 2018 truck.

Go to the Ford Owner Website and see the history of Sync and if you have a new one available. Some dealers will update them before they sell a car or truck others will not.

I have an 18 with 3.0 as well. What does going to the unsupported 3.4 get you over 3.0?

I am new to this forum so I hope I am adding my information correctly. About a month ago, I received an email from Ford informing me there were navigation map updates available for my Sync system. I followed the link in the email to Ford's website to create the map update files to be loaded onto my own USB drive. The nav files are so large I had to buy a larger USB drive to hold them all. Once I got to the part about how to install the nav files to the truck I learned I had to upgrade my Sync 3 to version 3.4. I had version 3.3. So, I started all over again and downloaded Sync 3 version 3.4.20136 to the USB drive I had just bought. I followed the instructions to load the Sync 3 v3.4 to the truck. It took maybe 10 minutes to finish the update but when I turned off the truck and back on again the screen would only show the Ford logo for a few seconds then go black. I did this a few times with the same results. I figured I had "bricked" my Sync system. Fortunately, my truck is still under warranty and I called my local Ford dealership to have the service department work on this and do a recall since I was going to be out of town during Thanksgiving. So, the next day, I get in the truck to leave it at the Ford dealership and low and behold the Sync 3 system loads find and looks completely different than my previous Sync 3 system. I had Sync 3 v3.4.20136. SMH.

I decide to leave it at the Ford dealership anyway since I wouldn't need the truck for the week of Thanksgiving. I asked them to fix the recall and update the maps and program the Auto Stop/Start feature to be off all the time. Well they fixed the recall and turned off the Auto Stop/Start feature but claim there is no map update. So, I come home to try to load the maps again using my own USB drive after downloading the maps and license file. The maps update starts and runs for about 20 minutes. I see the screens that Ford's website instructions say I should see but after 20 minutes I get an error: SIGN_ERR02. I have spoke to several Ford Support people and no one can tell me what this error means. They claim it isn't even part of the Error Code list. How is it possible I get an error code that Ford has never seen. I have Nav Maps NA117 and the Ford Support people tell me there is a NA119 but now I need to have Sync 3 v3.8. WTH! I just upgraded my Sync 3. Can anyone verify there is a Sync 3 v3.8?

I have not heard of any update beyond 3.4, and the latest official map release is 1.19 I believe, and that should load on sync 3.4 without issue. You might try downloading and replacing the copy on the usb drive again, as I had an issue with a damaged file at least once, and perhaps more than once (can't remember for sure). I would check the sync 3.4 thread as well, as there is a lot of info on that, although that is generally aimed at people upgrading their system with unofficial releases, and I would not recommend it with your truck under warranty or if you are not real comfortable with testing untried/beta software. Not for the faint of heart.

I have also experienced the delayed recognition of sync updates on mine. Normally, you need to turn the vehicle off for a few minutes, then restart it before an update will show up, but the last couple I have done, the system rebooted itself and showed the update without cycling the ignition.
