I think it's called curb mode, basically they tilt down when going in reverse to allow you better visibility of a curb or low wall or whatever when backing out.

I liked the idea of it, but with the 360 camera it would be less useful.

Remember perfectly that I noticed it didn't tilt back to normal after selecting N, or even P. Also thought it was strange, so deselected the mirror, and it went back to normal. Maybe if you take off they might reset at 'x' MPH, but who knows. At least it seems to be a 'normal' aspect ot that, if that helps. The idea of setting up memory 3 is not a bad idea, but I'm fine having to deselect the mirror if needed. Better than not having tilt reverse, no?
